Currency symbols

Note that this article is only of relevance to organisations located in Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the US.

If you're chasing invoices issued in your organisation's base currency then Chaser's email templates automatically substitute currency codes with their respective symbols as follows:

Code Symbol

This means that placeholders such as <invoice_total> show "$105" rather than "AUD105", which is generally preferable when invoicing domestic customers.

However, if your base currency is AUD, CAD, NZD or USD, and you'd prefer to communicate monetary quantities using codes rather than symbols in order to avoid ambiguity, then it's possible to disable these substitutions.

To do so please visit Settings > General > Currencies and untick Use currency symbols as shown below. Chaser and template previews will immediately be updated accordingly.
